Once you accept that your man boobs didn’t just appear overnight and they aren’t going to disappear the same way, it’s time to get down to some work. To lose your man boobs you need to address the following:

-Food and Nutrition

-Exercise

It’s not unlike any other weight problem in that both food and exercise play major roles in creating a good body shape. The food you eat, the time you eat, and what you drink all have a large part in how your body looks. You need to ensure first of all that you start drinking water as this will help your digestive system to break down the fat it has stored. If you don’t like tap water, try drinking it with ice, or drink bottled water. Find some way of ensuring that you get 8 glasses of water daily – one way is to make a schedule so that you know exactly what time you should drink each glass of water. Another way is to fill a bottle or jug with your daily amount so that you know once the jug’s empty, you’re done for the day!

Next look at your food choices. Are you getting enough fibre? How much sugar do you eat? Do you processed foods full of bad fats? Do you have 2-3 large meals per day or 5-6 smaller ones? All of these are important issues when addressing good eating habits. You need to get your digestive system on track to burn calories – strangely enough 5-6 small meals will raise your metabolism and burn more fat than 2-3 larger meals.

Finally exercise, for most people the most dreaded of all healthy living choices, and yet the most vital especially for losing those man boobs! With most weight loss choices, you need exercise that will completely burn the fat off. With man boobs, you might prefer to take what you have and convert this into toned muscle groups instead! Either way, you need to choose a combination of cardio exercise to increase your heart rate, and some weight training to both work on those man boobs – an added bonus of the weight training is that it will also help you increase your metabolism at the same time. Even if you don’t want to work out regularly at a gym, you should initially discuss weight training with an experienced (preferably certified) trainer who can help you create a personal plan to work on the right muscles for you to efficiently get rid of your man boobs.

Of course there is a surgical option to lose your man boobs, but apart from the possible side effects of major surgery, and the restrictions/pain experienced as a result of the procedure, you’ll still need to address the reasons why you gained the man boobs in the first place. Once you’ve recovered from the surgery you’ll still have to commit to a better food/exercise program after the surgery or you’ll find yourself back in the same place you are now.

So don’t take the deceptively easy path, instead investigate if there’s any medical reason why you have developed man boobs, and if not, commit yourself to creating the body shape you desire by using common sense healthy living techniques such as good eating habits and regular exercise. It might take a while, but you’ll probably find that after a relatively short time, you actually enjoy the process – and those man boobs will be a thing of the past.
